Job Description


Supervise and direct the personnel and activities of all maintenance departments, i.e. general maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, special projects, building maintenance, janitorial services, electrical and boiler rooms.

Perform first-level reporting responsibilities to departmental personnel. A Including but not limited to scheduling project assignments and time-off, completing and submitting personnel change forms and warning notices, and conducting training and performance evaluations. Apply policies fairly to workforce.

Recommend general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

Consult with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention and safety program.

Inspect or tour facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommend corrective or preventative measures.

Participate in the investigation and analysis of accidents and injuries. Cooperate in the preparation of materials and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.

Inspect completed maintenance work for conformance to specifications and standards.

Prepare maintenance work schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Maintain time and maintenance records.

Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Confer with plant managers to coordinate maintenance activities of individual plant facilities.

Analyze repairs made to machinery and equipment to determine if replacement or new equipment is more cost effective.

Recommend and orchestrate operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention, fire fighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.

Responsible for recommending security procedures and systems; to secure NFC plants/offices and employees.

Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs for plant activities.

Responsible for processing safety alarms. Coordinate work orders and responses to safety alarms. Prepare and manage departmental budget: promote cost reduction.

Adhere to and enforce the use of safe work practices following safety rules and regulations.

Job Requirements


Training/Education: Bachelors' Degree in Business, Chemical/Textile/Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 10-12 years experience in supervision/plant management, facilities/maintenance management, scheduling and engineering.

Other requirements: Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
