You will have a great deal of responsibility, including making product within specification and good quality, as well as ensuring that the machine stays running with minimal downtime to meet and or exceed our customer's expectations. DIE CUT OPERATOR





Expert Staffing in partnership with Boutwell, Owens and Co., in Fitchburg have several openings for experienced Die Cut Operators


Job Description:


This job exists in order to load sheets of paperboard into die cutting machinery, adjust and operate the machinery in order to covert sheets into die cut blanks, and delivery the die cut blanks to subsequent processes, while monitoring and maintaining the quality of product produced.



DUTIES:
Installs tooling into die cutting machinery, (cutting, creasing, waste removal and blank separation tooling).
Creates spot-up sheets behind the die and applies spot-up tape as necessary to achieve optimum cutting pressure.
Adjusts stream-feeding units, multiple-sheet detection devices, side-guide,
head-stop and gripper devices to accurately align streams of sheets into position with the die stationary die tooling.
Produces die cut product in accordance with job specifications including job order directions, department supplemental instructions, die vinyl/diagrams, samples and proofs.
Inspects die cut product for thorough cutting, precise and consistent print-to-die cut registration, (positioning), properly formed creases.
Removes die tooling from machinery and returns tooling to set-up personnel.
Documents production quantities, production time periods and quality problems.
Obtains die impressions, carbon paper outlines on crease plate material, and spot-up packing paper using die cutting machinery.
Performs scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on die cutting machinery.

12 hour shifts - Days and Nights

All positions are temp to hire or Direct Hire

If you already have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, here’s what else you’ll need to succeed in this role!



REQUIREMENTMENTS:
High school graduate preferred, (printing or mechanical trade is relevant).
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations, including working with fraction and decimals.
Must be capable of working independently after initial training period.
Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and re-formulation of plans.
Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity on a regular basis.
