Job Description

Expert Staffing currently has many openings on 1st and 2nd shift in Palmer, MA.

These are full time, temp-to-perm opportunities for qualified candidates! Overtime will be available on Saturdays!

Job title: Machine Operators

Location: Palmer, MA

Hours: 1st and 2nd shifts with overtime available

First Shift is: 7am- 3:30pm, Mon – Fri.

Second Shift is: 3:30pm – midnight, Mon – Fri.

Temp to perm for qualified candidates

Pay:  1st shift = $11/hour

          2nd shift = $11.25/hour

Job Descriptions:

Machine Operators:

  • Participate in Daily Shift meetings and communicate with the prior shift’s team members

  • Verify all machines are running, paperwork is accurate, hoppers are filled, and raw material is available

  • Perform visual and gauge measurement inspection for quality control

  • Notify supervisors of any issues immediately

  • Count, pack and label finished product and complete corresponding parts tickets

  • Maintain a clean work area and machine


Twister/Trimmer Operator*

*The following Job Description is an example of duties to be performed. Candidates may perform some or all of these duties and are expected to perform additional duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor*

  • Follow instructions and details of “job sheet” to ensure job number, stock size and type

  • Use of hand tools and foot pedal

  • Inspection of machines for foreign objects as needed

  • Cut and/or trim wire brushes as specified by job order instructions

  • Check that correct material is available and supplied at all times

  • Set up wire material on machine, run machine, remove, bundle and pack finished product

  • Perform Quality Control visually and with use of micrometer

  • Complete and submit all required production paperwork

  • Notify Supervisors of any issues with quality or machines immediately

  • Maintain a clean work area and machine

  • Attend weekly meetings


Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or general education degree

  • 3 months of similar experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

  • Basic math and English skills

  • Ability to communicate with supervisors and team members effectively

  • Attention to detail

  • Good manual dexterity

  • This position has a physical aspect and candidates must be able to safely walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 30lbs.
