Expert Staffing is seeking to find a Machinist out of the Enfield CT area !


Able to set up and/or operate all machine tools for complex parts fabrication of tools and fixtures (as needed.) Make sure that quality of all machined parts is correct with all specifications.

Job Description

  • Has knowledge of working all inspection tools: Verniers, Gauge Blocks, Indicators, etc

  • Must set up and/or operate all machine tools for complex parts.

  • Capable of doing layouts to fabricate complex parts and working to tolerance .0003 inch close accuracy.

  • Works with little or no supervision and be able to train and instruct less qualified personnel on print reading, the operation of Bridgeport and lathes, and the use of measuring or inspection tools.

  • Familiar with basic raw materials, speeds and feeds of machine tools for efficient operation, threading procedures. 

  • Uses micrometers, air gauges, Jo blocks, height gauges, last work indicators, calipers etc proficiently.

  • Capable of recognizing and correcting malfunctions of machine tools or set-up.

  • Must be able to interpret blue prints and engineering sketches to fabricate the particular component or part and can recommend process and methods for tooling and machining to improve work quality and productivity.

  • Can skillfully set up and operate all machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and properly sharpen drills, tool bits, inserts etc.

  • Can set up and properly use gage blocks, hardness testers, comparators, surface finish gage, sine bar, etc.

  • Able to understand bill of materials, routings, and to complete all tests and inspection sheets.

  • Must skillfully set up and operate Bridgeport Engine and Turret Lathes, Milling Machines, Jog Borer, Grinders, etc. to manufacture complex parts.

  • Must produce fixtures, jigs and tooling and work from engineering sketches showing only the end result required.

  • Must meet quality standards of all machined parts; make sure all specifications are correct.

  • Must follow and enforce Company safety regulations and requirements.

  • Follows ISO 9001 policies and procedures in the performance to the responsibilities outlined in the job description.

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent of general education degree (GED)

  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in diversified Machine Shop operations with minimum of 4 years in actual tool work.  Minimum of 10 years experience as a Machinist A or equivalent.
