Job Description

The production manager will oversee production and flow of product. This is a hands on working supervisory position.  This individual will also be responsible for quality procedures and adherence to defined policies.  The management, leadership and team building of between 10 and 20 employees is a crucial element of the job.  The hours are Monday – Friday from 2pm to 11pm (2nd shift) and 11pm to 7:00am (3rd shift) with weekend overtime as needed.  The work environment is refrigerated and modern.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain the production facility to be in an “audit-ready” state 24/7.

  • Hold a high regard for our core values: health, safety, and environment management. Will assist in safety audits and immediately address any issues, to ensure the continuation of the site’s exceptional safety performance and OSHA conformance.

  • Ensure production is staffed at optimal levels; and that all employees are trained, motivated, and charged with carrying out their responsibilities with compliance to all health, safety, and hygiene standards. Will track employee competencies and support ongoing development of exempt and non-exempt reports.

  • Manage production operations to ensure that output and quality targets are achieved and general communication of the production schedule is orderly and regular.

Job Requirements

The right candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, within a validated Quality Management System, and offering proven achievement of KPI goals. Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business OR an Industrial Management Certification, although work experience will be considered in lieu of degrees or certifications. Must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to promote team building.


Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear.  The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift and/or move 51-100 pounds assisted.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
